Dear Friend

Welcome! This is the first issue of a newsletter that is designed to keep you informed about developments in Terry Nagel's campaign for a seat on the City Council in the Nov. 4 election.

THIS WEEK'S NEWS

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!

We need lots of volunteers to help get out the word about the importance of the upcoming election. If we don't change the balance of power on the council by electing an independent thinker, our city will suffer.

If you are willing to send postcards to friends, bring a plate of cookies to a coffee, help walk a precinct, put up a sign in your yard, endorse Terry or donate to Terry's campaign, please call Terry at (650) 347-3576 or Ro Logrippo at (650) 344-8640. Or visit Terry's Web site at www.terrynagel.com and click on the "Support" button at the top.

ARE YOU REGISTERED TO VOTE?

We need make sure every supporter is registered to vote!

The last day to register to vote in the Nov. 4 election is Oct. 20. You can pick up forms at public libraries, Burlingame City Hall, Burlingame High School, the Burlingame Recreation Center, the Burlingame Chamber of Commerce, Burlingame Villa, Mills Estate Villa, the Department of Motor Vehicles, the U.S. Post Office, the Plumbers and Steamfitters Union No. 467, Senior Focus, the Retirement Inn of Burlingame and online. You can also call the county Elections Office at (650) 312-5222, and a form will be mailed to you within one day.

To register online, visit Terry's Web site at www.terrynagel.com and look in the lower lefthand corner of the homepage. This registration process is not complete until you print out, sign and mail in a completed form to the Elections Office.

ABSENTEE BALLOTS

It's now easy to register as a permanent absentee, which means you will receive an absentee ballot in the mail before each election unless you fail to vote in a statewide election, in which case you must reapply. A regular absentee voter must request an absentee ballot before every election.

To register as a permanent absentee voter, mark the designated box on the voter registration form. If you're already registered to vote, you can request an absentee ballot between Oct. 6 and Oct. 28. Fill out the application on the back of your sample ballot pamphlet or complete an application online (go to www.terrynagel.com). You can mail a written request to the Registration Elections Division, 40 Tower Road, San Mateo 94402 or fax your request to (650) 312-5348.

Here's to victory on Nov. 4!
