Dear Friend
THIS WEEK'S NEWS:
- You can meet Terry at two candidates' forums on Wednesday, October 1.
- The first one is open to all senior citizens and takes
place at 1:30 p.m. at the Retirement Inn, 250 Myrtle Road, Burlingame.
- The second is the big debate sponsored by the League of Women
Voters, the Burlingame Chamber of Commerce, the Independent, Citizens
for a Better Burlingame and the Burlingame Homeowners Association. It
begins at 7 p.m. in the council chambers at Burlingame City Hall and
will be televised live on local channel 26.
- Both events are free.
- Terry is inviting the public to meet her at a coffee this Sunday, October
5, at 1 p.m. at the Lions Club, 990 Burlingame Ave. (next to the Burlingame
Recreation Center). She will speak at 1:30 p.m., then will take questions.
Refreshments will be served.
- Terry has raised the most money so far among the six candidates in the City
Council race: $13,043, compared to $10,535 for Mike Coffey, $7,910 for Russ
Cohen, $4,542 for Dan Andersen, $3,668 for Mary Janney and zero for Paul Prendiville.
Terry's contributions come primarily from Burlingame residents. She is not
accepting any donations from special interest organizations. An analysis of
contributions to incumbents Coffey and Janney shows that much of their financial
support is from big developers, real estate brokers and car dealerships. Click

- Volunteers for Terry hit the sidewalks en masse last weekend to deliver
her brochure to absentee voters, who can begin casting their ballots for the
November 4 election as soon as October 6. There is bound to be some confusion
among voters who are also being deluged with mail from gubernatorial candidates
running in the October 7 recall race.
