The best Web site to use to check results of the election, beginning at 8 p.m. tonight, is San Mateo County's election site, Shape the Future, at www.shapethefuture.org. The League of Women Voters' site at www.smartvoter.org provides helpful information about the election.

Please don't throw out your Nagel campaign sign tomorrow! You can drop it off at Terry's house at 2337 Poppy Drive or leave it in your lawn and someone will pick it up.

- If you're not certain about where your polling place is located, go to www.smartvoter.org and use the "Find My Ballot" feature on the righthand side.

If there is any question about whether your absentee ballot has been received, you can go to any Burlingame polling place and fill out a "provisional ballot" that will be counted only in the event that your absentee ballot is not found. Two polling places in Burlingame are City Hall and the Burlingame Recreation Center. Most public schools also are polling places.

Absentee ballots must be received by the Elections Office no later than 8 p.m. tonight. You can drop it at any Burlingame polling place or deliver your ballot to 40 Tower Road in San Mateo.
