Dear Friend:
November 4, 2007
Dear [First Name]:
Election Day is this Tuesday! I’m writing to let you know how you can make sure your vote is counted and how to learn about election results as they happen on Election Night.
In addition, I urge you to support Dave Pine and Stephen Rogers for election to the San Mateo Union High School District and to vote “yes” on Measure A, which will support badly needed improvements in the Burlingame Elementary School District.
The polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Election Day, November 6. You can find your polling place online on San Mateo County’s official election site, ShapetheFuture.org.
If you are an absentee voter and you’ve already mailed in your ballot, you can go online to Track and Confirm receipt of your mailed-in ballot. If you haven’t mailed your ballot yet, you can turn it in at any polling place, at the Elections Office at 40 Tower Road in San Mateo or at the County Government Center at 555 County Center, 1st Floor, Redwood City. There are also absentee drop boxes in every City Hall in San Mateo County.
If you have an absentee ballot and want someone else to carry it to the polls for you, follow the directions on the ballot.
If there is any question about whether the county has a record of your vote, you can request a “provisional ballot” at your usual polling place. It will be counted once election officials determine that your absentee ballot was not turned in.
Have you been called out of town on Election Day? Too busy to vote Tuesday? You can vote on Monday between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. at 40 Tower Road in San Mateo or 555 County Center in Redwood City.
For answers to more questions about voting, see “Voter Q&A” on the City of Burlingame’s Web site.
On Election Night, ShapetheFuture.org is the place to go for up-to-the-minute poll results, beginning shortly after the polls close at 8 p.m.
If you have any questions, you can reach the Elections Office at (650) 312-5222. Feel free to call me anytime at (650) 347-3576 or email me at terry@terrynagel.com.
Thanks for caring about Burlingame!
