Power Outages

Did you have a power outage recently? Burlingamers Unwilling to Live with Blackouts (BULB) would like you to record the details of your outage by filling out a Power Outage Report at www.terrynagel.com/Report_a_Power_Outagepage370.htm on my Web site. We will use this information during discussions with Pacific Gas & Electric (PG&E) about how to improve service. You can also view the Power Outage Log at www.terrynagel.com/Log_of_Power_Outagespage490.htm on my site.

If you lost power for 48 hours or longer, PG&E will send you an automatic payment of $25 to $100 for your inconvenience under its Safety Net Program. No action is required by the customer. Checks will be mailed in 60 to 90 days after the story event’s conclusion. Visit www.pge.com/safetynet for more information.

Residential and business customers who incur losses (such as food spoilage, personal inconvenience or business economic loss) during power outages are eligible for refunds under the terms explained on PG&E’s Claims page at www.pge.com/customer_service/claims/. Claims must be made within one or two years, depending on the type of claim.
